Financial overview

  • Still waiting for membership fee of UNIL, KUL and UPS
  • Received membership fee for CGIAR, ESPOL and TUBINGEN
  • The foundation has basically the same amount of money as last year: 102 593 euros + 11 121 Swiss francs = 120 000 euros.

Current work in each CDS

UNIL
  • OpenScenario is a tool to produce pedagogical scenarios. A prototype should be delivered in March. Scenarios will be populated with Ariadne or GLOBE resources, and then stored into the repository.
UPS
  • CEAGMATIC is a project financed by ANR and aims at providing students with relevant guiding systems according to their profile. UPS works in collaboration with psychologists.
ESPOL
  • LACLO is pretty active: learning objects produced by the Latin American community are shared into a repository.
  • FLOR is a Latin American federation of repositories: based on Ariadne technologies, this network of repositories facilitates sharing of learning material in Latin America. Other initiatives are appearing (Learning Object Discovery and Exchange), so FLOR should be compatible with new standards.
  • LODE is a project to set up a kind of registry and collections. LODE is based on Ariadne and GLOBE technologies.
  • A new federated search implementation should be available by the middle of 2009. It will be implemented within LACLO, and then ESPOL will offer the development to Ariadne. Financed by Microsoft and Latin American IT, the objective is to retrieve LO from Ariadne and LACLO, and to create a course populated with LO through recommendations. It includes 6 universities from Brazil, Mexico and Ecuador.
  • LACLO conference from 6 to 10 of july 2009 in Mexico.
  • Other projects: use of a remote during trainings, gesture recognition for people who cannot talk (camera to track hands).
