The one-year Master's programme in Educational Science and Technology (University of Twente's EST) focuses on designing and evaluating learning in schools and organisations. Its scope runs from primary-school instruction and interactive vocational materials to talent development and in-company retraining — always pairing a high-tech approach with a firm emphasis on the human dimension.
Two Profiles, One Degree
Students choose between two specialist tracks:
- Education Design and Effectiveness (EDE) — systematically designing learning environments and measuring their impact on learners.
- Human Resource Development (HRD) — learning and team development within everyday workplace settings.

Research Standing and Entry
The Faculty of Behavioural Sciences submitted its Educational Design and Evaluation research programme — covering inquiry learning, educational effectiveness, and computerised knowledge testing — to a national assessment of Dutch pedagogical and educational science research. The programme received scores of 4.5 out of 5 for quality, productivity and relevance, and 4 for vitality, placing it at the top of educational research in the Netherlands.
